Theater Tech
Expressions '24
Anually, my high school, Baltimore School for the Arts, hosts "Expressions". It's a showcase showing work from every department, usually fitting a theme. In 2024 I was the lightboard operator.
Theory of Relativity
For our senior year musical, my class did Theory of Relativity. I was a projections operator, which was especially important as this show was abstract. There was very little set and everything was very metaphorical.
Carrie: The Musical
My high school had a program where seniors would go to England to put on a show with a theater company. For my year we did Carrie, and I was placed in charge of making the blood. It was a bit difficult because we had a very low budget, no backup costumes in case of stains, and the actress who was playing Carrie had sensitive skin. I had to come up with a workable mixture and make sure the exploded nicely.
Costumes
Nutcracker '23
Anually, my school, Baltimore School for the Arts, puts on the Nutcracker. Once you're a senior, you have the chance to take on an important role in the production. I got to create a new costume for the Rat King.
Personal Creations
Sewing is just a nice skill to have. It's even better when you can make and fix your own clothes.
Halloween
I made my own Halloween costume using special effects makeup. I was the character Curly from the indie game Mouthwashing in 2024, and in 2023, I made myself a wedding veil
About Me
Hi, I'm Rileah! I'm a 18 year old artist from Baltimore. I've spent practically my whole life in the theater, both watching and partaking in productions. My intrest really didn't kick off until I was put in a production of Cats in my elementary school. I played Old Deuteronomy which required a lot of singing. I continued to do school plays throughout elementary and middle school, but stopped when I went to high school.
Even though I stopped preforming, I never stopped loving the theater. I went to the Baltimore School for the Arts as a Stage Design and Production Student (usually called SDP), and I graduated in June of 2024.
